IDF Managers is a specialist SME fund manager, primarily focusing on investment in businesses owned by black youth and women, and those based in rural and peri-urban areas. The IDF SME Fund was established to achieve IDF’s vision of growing South Africa’s SME sector and to earn a return for the investors.

IDF advocates for sustainable intervention, through a commercial model, in addressing South Africa’s societal challenges. IDF targets SMEs for the untapped value in this sector, and the role of SMEs in contributing to service delivery, particularly in under-serviced areas.

Through a proven model and its partnership with Anglo Zimele, IDF will lead investments in, and development of the SME sector to become a dynamic sector, and a major participant in South Africa’s economy. IDF also brings innovation to the SME sector, to introduce new products that are suited to this sector, and to attract increased private sector participation in the SME sector.
